About Me/News

Welcome to Harvest Beads!

I'm Breezy Riggs, I live in Portland, Oregon with my husband Loric and our 2-year-old daughter. All of my beads are lovingly made in my home studio and properly annealed. Going straight from flame to digitally-controlled kiln. After which they are cleaned and inspected before being sold.

I find inspiration for beads everywhere I go and in everything I do. From books to movies to music and most of all the world around me. I am drawn to color, light, landscapes and the details of nature's beauty. My muse tends to live somewhere between fantasy and reality :)

After many years of painting and being a general lover of the arts, I found Lampworking. It has proved to be challenging, rewarding, addicting and a constant joy in my life. I feel so lucky to have found this place, I'm home and every thing's alright.

In addition to Lampworking I also own and operate Bridgetown Glass (www.bridgetownglass.com) with Loric, which is art glass supplies. And occasionally you might find me helping Loric at his Screen Printing shop here in Portland, EvolTwin Printing (www.evoltwinprinting.com). It's an exciting and busy time in our lives and I suspect it's not slowing down any time soon!

Thank you for stopping by!

Take care and happy beading, Breezy

I'm so excited, the Harvest Beads shirts are here! I couldn't be happier with the results and I have a few people to thank for making this project come to life...

About a year ago I approached artist Terry Bizarro about creating a piece for Harvest Beads. She was very interested, but unfortunately last year was crazy for everyone and the project fell by the wayside. When things began to settle a bit I revisited the idea with Terry and also with writer Jacqueline Danziger-Russell. I had a hunch that with their combined talents they could make something truly amazing...and they did just that. Not only has this collaboration delighted and impressed me, but it has inspired me. The beauty they conjured out of thin air and gave shape to has reminded me that anything is possible. That we need to follow our hearts and our talents and make room for the things in our life that will slip through our fingers if we let them. That we need to sit down with our friends and create, imagine, daydream and enjoy. Entertain the ideas brewing and see where they might take us. You never know, you just might end up somewhere magical.

Thank you Jackie for your words. Thank you Terry for your drawing. And thank you both for being the beautiful people that you are.

And thank you to my wonderful husband Loric Riggs, owner of EvolTwin Printing. He took Terry's original art done in colored pencil and acrylic paint and turned it into a stunning screen-printed design. Every shirt is printed by hand at his shop here in Portland, Oregon.

The shirt details...

Printed on American Apparel 100% cotton Fine Jersey Short Sleeve Tees. This is my personal favorite from the American Apparel Women's and Unisex lines. They are the softest, smoothest cotton tees and in combination with the expert printing process which yields a light, velvety feeling ink they are amazingly comfortable.

Shirts are available in Women's sizes Small-X Large and Unisex sizes Small-3XLarge

All orders of $300.00 or more from now to the end of December 2008 will receive a free Harvest Beads tee with order while supplies last. Please write your first and second size preferences in the comments section of your order.
